Surface Plasmon Resonance Monitoring of Mono-Rhamnolipid Interaction with Phospholipid-Based Liposomes

The interactions of mono-rhamnolipids (mono-RLs) with model membranes were investigated through a biomimetic approach using phospholipid-based liposomes immobilized on gold substrate and also by the multiparametric surface plasmon resonance (MP-SPR) technique. Biotinylated bound onto an SPR chip coated streptavidin layer. resulting MP-SPR signal proved efficient binding liposomes. thickness liposome layer calculated modeling was about 80 nm, which matched average diameter mono-RL to film phospholipid monitored morphological changes assessed signal.
